Battle of the Custody Battles

We agree that child custody battles are private matters that should be kept out of the media. However, some stars just can’t help themselves, and they invite us into these fights, in which case, we feel we’re allowed to comment.
All right, now that we have the disclaimer out of the way, let’s talk Charlie Sheen-Denise Richards vs. Britney Spears-Kevin Federline. Two epic custody battles, each with enough drama this past week to make us wonder: Are child custody fights now trendier than adopting Third World babies?
Over on the the Sheen-Richards front, a catfight is brewing between Denise and Brooke Mueller, Sheen's fiancée. Mueller stands by her man and refutes Denise’s recent claims, saying:
“It's a shame that Denise conveniently edited my e-mail correspondence to serve her own interests. She would be both mortified and embarrassed if I released any one of her 40 e-mails to me. But she knows my character and humanity and knows that I would never do such a thing."
Serious burn to Denise. This makes Brit being called a habitual user of controlled substances seem like old news. (It was just three days ago, in case you lost track of time like us.)
We can't wait to find out what these crazy couples have in store for us next week! How about you?
And while Denise, Brooke, Charlie, Brit and K-Fed spend their weekend plotting stunts for magazine covers, let’s not forget about the real winners here—the lawyers, unless you’re Britney’s lawyer and are always on the chopping block.
