Baldwin, Basinger: Custody Woes
Things are getting ugly between former twosome Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin.
The camera-friendly duo, married from 1993 until 2000, are court-bound because of a custody dispute over their 8-year-old daughter Ireland.
On Monday, Superior Court Judge Roy Paul set a trial date for February 23. Both actors attended the hearing but didn't speak to each other.
Meanwhile, details about the upcoming court date were not disclosed pending a January 23 hearing on a motion to keep documents filed in the case sealed.
But according to published reports Baldwin allegedly sued after learning that an independent evaluator recommended Basinger get full custody of their daughter.
Baldwin's rep issued no comment while a call to Basinger's rep was not returned.
Basinger filed for divorce in 2001 citing "irreconcilable differences." Her father later chalked the split up to Alec's fiery temper.
At the time of the split, Basinger filed for physical custody of their daughter but planned to share legal custody with her former hubby. Their divorce became final September 3, 2002.
Since then Baldwin's kept busy with several projects, including the Cat in the Hat and the critically acclaimed The Cooler, which earned him a supporting Golden Globe nomination.Next up, he'll star in Along Came Polly opposite Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller in theaters Friday, followed by the mafia caper The Last Shot in September and the Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator in December.
On Basinger's calendar are the thriller The Cellular which hits theaters in May, and Door in the Floor, scheduled for limited release some time later this year. And of course, at least one court date.
