B2K Breaks It Off
Looks like B2K hit some bump, bump, bumps in the road.
The award-winning hip-hopster partnership of Omarion, Lil Fizz, J. Boog and Raz has officially disbanded after six years together, two platinum albums and a sold-out U.S. tour.
Rumors from within the B2K camp point to disagreements among the foursome as the reason for the divide, though the band's longtime manager and production partner Chris Stokes of the Ultimate Group indicated that the split was amicable.
"We've had a great run together making hit songs, albums and now movies," Stokes said in a statement. "The kids are growing up and are interested in pursuing their own careers. I have enormous respect for each of them, and I wish them success in their pursuit of their individual careers. B2K was an extremely talented singing group that will surely be missed."
Stokes will continue to manage Omarion, but would not confirm or deny if any of the other ex-B2Kers will be sticking with him. He stated that he would welcome a working relationship with any of the other former band members.
The band's most famous hit was "Bump, Bump, Bump," featuring P. Diddy. Other hit singles included "Girlfriend" and "Gots To Be."
The group's 2002 album, B2K, opened at number two on the charts and earned the band throngs of hysterical mall-dwelling fans.
Most recently, B2K released its third album, You Got Served, which serves as the soundtrack to the group's upcoming movie by the same name. You Got Served is set for nationwide release on Screen Gems later this month. Omarion stars in the film in what is touted by his label as his "breakout lead role."
