We're not trying to be cute here, the Avengers really are going to make a presence in space, but it's probably not what you're thinking.

As cool as it would be to get Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and company up close and personal with the stars (and we're obvs not talking about Hollywood celebs here), the flick's cast will be seen above and beyond while onscreen.

Marvel Studios announced today that they made a deal with NASA to transfer their popular film to NASA's Mission Control in Houston, which will uplink the film to the International Space Station to be screened for the space station crew's exclusive enjoyment.

And the ISS is currently orbiting at 220 miles above Earth. How cool is that?!

"The studio is privileged to share ‘Marvel's The Avengers' with those up in space exploring the universe.  A special thanks goes to NASA for utilizing their incredible technology to make this special screening miles above us in space happen. It is a screening that would make Tony Stark envious," Marvel Studios' co-president and executive producer Louis D'Esposito said in a press release.

A part of us thinks the space station will be very happy with the film, don't you?
