Why can't celebrities get some decent limo drivers? First Rihanna's gets pulled over for having no plates; then LiLo's gets into an accident. Geez!

Whoa, slow down there. Not every story you've read—or, more likely, seen on TMZ or X17 video—is everything it's made out to be. In fact, according to a veteran Hollywood limo driver familiar with the Rihanna police stoppage, the singer's driver was from a reputable company that had plenty of documentation and a long history of safely driving our American royalty around.
Which isn't how most young stars roll, by the way. Why? Well...
First of all, the LAPD people I spoke with didn't have a clue about what kind of ticket the limo driver got, and the company who owns the limo didn't immediately comment to me on the situation. But my point is this: From what I've gathered, Rihanna's particular limo company is fine and upstanding. It was an isolated incident.
Which is unusual.
Other celebrities definitely need a lesson in picking their drivers. Take LiLo, whose driver reportedly clipped a door or gate while motoring La Lohan home from a bar. On another occasion, a Lohan assistant reportedly rear-ended a Subaru while driving the actress' new Maserati.
What's wrong with that last sentence? Assistant.
In that second case, "it wasn't a professional, for-hire vehicle," Hundley explains. So of course the likelihood of accidents goes through the roof.
At least 60 percent of younger stars—Rihanna being an exception—tend to shun paid limousines, Hundley says. "The younger set usually wants their friends—their friends of friends. It's usually the people 45 or older who are more open to professionals."
So to answer your question: Why can't stars find decent limo drivers? Simple. Because, most of the time, they just don't want to.
