Ashton and Demi's "Punk'd" Wedding?
Ashton Kutcher has fallen victim to his own shtick.
The Punk'd purveyor made headlines over the weekend when he reportedly wed girlfriend Demi Moore in a hastily pulled-together Kabbalah-themed ceremony.
However, according to an unsubstantiated email making the rounds, the vow-swapping was set up as part of an elaborate prank for the actor's MTV series.
The missive, purportedly sent by Kutcher's producing partner, Jason Goldberg, details the set-up behind the alleged hoax.
"Preparations for the ceremony are in full swing, and it's actually more [trouble] than preparing a real wedding, if that's possible," the email reads. "Please remember that not everyone attending knows that this is for the show, so bring your A-game and keep your mouth shut."
But reps for both Kutcher and Moore claim that whoever is behind the email is the one pulling the prank.
Kutcher's flack, Leslie Sloan Zelnick, called the email "false," while Moore's rep, Stephen Huvane, deemed it "fake."
"The email [from 'Jason Goldberg'] is completely false," Zelnick told the New York Daily News. "Ashton is not punking anyone here."
Even so, neither rep was willing to confirm that the twosome are, in fact, husband and wife.
"I don't know," Zelnick said. "I feel that [Ashton] will tell me when he wants to."
Whether or not it proves to be a fake, the email regarding Kutcher's allegedly faux marital status wasn't the only recent Internet mischief to plague the Dude, Where's My Car? star.
A pair of videogame enthusiasts from Los Angeles have set up the Website AshtonHacked.com, on which they claim to have hacked into Kutcher's voicemail box.
According to the explanation on the site, the individuals, who refer to themselves as "Dave (Bloodmaster)" and "Joey (Fraglord)," claim to have scored Kutcher's phone number from "Joey's older (and sluttier) sister, Kimberly," who allegedly got the actor's digits after meeting him at his L.A. eatery, Dolce.
After trying multiple combinations of numbers, the duo supposedly discovered that Kutcher's password was 7865, which spells PUNK. The hackers claim they then proceeded to access the actor's mailbox and subsequently posted his messages in MP3 format on their Website.
The messages, available for public consumption through the site, are relatively mundane, with the exception of one titled "Hot Chick," which definitely swerves into X-rated territory.
Per Zelnick, the "stupid voicemails" are also a hoax and do not belong to Kutcher.
However, if the messages were authentic, the Fraglord/Bloodmaster twosome might do well to learn from the mistakes made by the teen who hacked into Paris Hilton's Sidekick.
After pleading guilty to accessing Hilton's info and posting it on the Internet, among other hacking charges, the 17-year-old was sentenced earlier this month to 11 months in a juvenile detention facility.
