"Amazing Race 6" Revs Up

Ladies and gentleman, start your engines. The Amazing Race 6 is on. And this time around, there's even a secret agent.

CBS has unveiled a new lineup of 11 couples who'll make a 25,000-mile dash around the world for a $1 million grand prize in the latest edition of über-producer Jerry Bruckheimer's hit reality series.

Since its 2001 debut, The Amazing Race has cemented itself as a ratings-grabber and the critical darling of the reality TV genre, winning the Emmy for Best Competitive Reality Program two years running and regularly landing in the Nielsen top 20.

In a tube world skewing more and more towards the cruel (Pax's Cold Turkey), the wretched (Fox's The Swan) and the downright desperate (TBS' wacky He's a Lady and NBC's The Biggest Loser), The Amazing Race seems almost quaint by comparison.

But slick production values and riveting storylines have translated into solid ratings as teams on a limited budget traipse through such far-flung locales as India, Malaysia, Egypt, New Zealand, Russia and the Philippines.

Last season's finale, in which fortysomething married couple Chip and Kim McAllister crossed the finished line first, drew nearly 13 million viewers to win its time slot.

Like past installments, this season's batch of competitors features the usual assortment of couples, relatives and friends (and, natch, some easy-on-the-eyes models). But the new race also includes a few offbeat pairings, including an ex-CIA agent and his daughter, as well as married pro wrestlers.

Hosted again by Phil Keoghan, The Amazing Race 6 will premiere on CBS Nov. 16.

Here's a rundown of the teams:
