The (Almost) Naked Truth About McDreamy

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

I know everyone's talking about the McScuffle that may or may not have been (which, yes, I also dished on last week). But personally, as a die-hard fan of the show, I find the whole thing so heartbreaking I'd like to move on! So, I'm bringing you dish from my recent meet and greet with the cast to get you revved up for the next episode.

I caught up with the fine folks of Seattle Grace at a truly fantastic charity event, which you can hear all about in the brand-new Vine show in the clip on this page. (It also has McSteamy deliciousness and the latest on Izzie from the chief himself, James Pickens.)

The best part? I had a nice, lengthy talk with Ellen Pompeo (love her) about Patrick Dempsey's undergarments. (Yes, it was a good day.) And I learned the following tidbits from the cast...

1. T.R. Knight Is Rooting for George and Callie: “George needs a little space right now,” T.R. (George) explains of his alter ego. “I think after the whole debacle with Meredith, he’s trying to understand how he thought something was love that really wasn’t love. And he wants to take it easy so he doesn’t make the same mistake again. And in conjunction with that, you have someone coming on very strong at him. So, it’s a strained dynamic. All I know is I love working with Sara [Ramirez], so I hope it works out!"

2. Chandra Wilson Thinks the Chief Will Ease Up on Izzie: “You know, I was trying to do my thing in his office. I was trying to work a little Bailey magic on him. I’m sure he will be a little cantankerous or whatever. But ultimately, he’s a pushover!” When asked whether her onscreen hubby will reappear anytime soon, she just laughed. “Oh yeah. Where is he? I think he’s off somewhere taking care of the baby all the time. I forgot about him!”

3. Shooting the Threesome Dream Was a Gigglefest: “The outtakes of that [threesome dream] scene will probably make it to the third-season DVD,” Ellen told me. “Because, I mean, you can’t do anything in that scenario but giggle. I just felt so stupid. I was really embarrassed.” Still, she admits, “It was more awkward for the guys, actually, because their modesty garments are very…They are just silly-looking. You know, like, these flesh-colored, silly-looking little-boy shorts. And the way we shot it, with the camera starting on me and then panning out, Patrick had to scoot into the bed without making the bed move. So, just the visual of him slithering into the bed with those little boy shorts was really something. It’s good I’m the only one who saw that!” Patrick just played it off cool when asked about the shoot: “Chris O’Donnell is really fun to work with. We all laughed a lot.”

SPOILER ALERT

While we're on the subject of Grey's, I'll leave you with a few exclusive, (mildly) spoilery tidbits, just 'cause I care:

  • Sources tell me Izzie won't be spending the money anytime soon, but one of her roomies asks for some of it to pay off loans.
  • I also hear George's dad comes back soon.
  • And, most importantly, two people who currently aren't yet together are soon in a bathtub together! And you know what that probably means—more "silly little-boy shorts." Yay!
