Somebody give this guy a standing ovation!

Newly hitched Alec Baldwin, who tied the knot with fiancée Hilaria Thomas on Saturday in New York City, is clearly flush with more than just wedded bliss.

The famously hotheaded actor, whose nasty throwdowns with paparazzi have hogged headlines lately, showed his altruistic side by bequeathing a pair of very generous gifts to two distinguished performing-arts groups in New York City.

Just how generous, you ask?

According to The Wall Street Journal, the 30 Rock star donated $500,000 to the Roundabout Theatre Company, the country's largest not-for-profit theater group, for whom he's performed several plays in the past.

And that's not all: Baldwin, who recently quit Twitter, also bequeathed a cool million to Lincoln Center's New York Philharmonic.

Talk about hitting a high note!

Baldwin reportedly used his earnings as spokesman for Capital One bank to fund the endowments, and said he hoped the donations would help spur stronger awareness of arts funding.

"I'm hoping this dialogue will bring more attention to arts coverage," he told the paper. "The only reason I'm publicizing it is for people to please not forget the arts. Most money goes to medical causes, then alma mater, then the arts comes fourth or fifth."

He also admitted that quite a few arts organizations have now approached him for moola.

"All I'm trying to figure out is: How can I get my hands on more money?" he said. "How can I set up a food company like Paul Newman that prints money? Could I sell hair gel?"

Alec Baldwin hair gel? Hmmm...now that's something Jack Donaghy wouldn't have any trouble peddling!
