Alec Baldwin's Creative Temperament
Alec Baldwin's bridges apparently weren't burned all the way through.
The 30 Rock star has realigned himself with Creative Artists Agency, just weeks after dropping the talent house in the wake of his infamous voicemail meltdown, in which he referred to his daughter as a "rude, thoughtless pig."
"I could not imagine being represented by anyone other than Matt DelPiano," Baldwin said in a statement released by his rep.
Baldwin, 46, broke with CAA and his longtime agents DelPiano and Michael Rosenfeld "strictly for personal reasons" last month, shortly after his profanity-laced phone message to 11-year-old Ireland became public fodder.
After leaving the agency, he also tried to quit his role on 30 Rock, stating that he no longer wanted to be in show business and that he didn't want the negativity surrounding him to affect the newly renewed show's ratings.
"If I never acted again I couldn't care less," Baldwin said in a pre-taped segment broadcast on The View. "I would like to devote myself to the cause of parental alienation," a topic on which he is reportedly writing a book.
However, NBC did care about keeping Baldwin aboard its already struggling series and declined to let him out of his contract.
"Alec Baldwin remains an important part of 30 Rock," a network spokesperson said last month. "We look forward to having him continue his role in the show."
With his representation rehired, Baldwin is expected to return to the set in August as planned and is due to appear in at least 12 episodes in the upcoming season.
In the meantime, the actor's custody battle with ex-wife Kim Basinger continues, though all developments in the case are being kept under wraps.
At a hearing earlier this month, which Basinger attended and Baldwin did not, something transpired that made the former "very, very happy." As the hearing was closed, and all court orders sealed, just what that something was remained unclear.
