About a Girl for Toni Collette
Toni Collette has welcomed her own little Miss Sunshine.
The Australian actress gave birth to daughter Sage Florence Galafassi, her first child with her husband, Dave Galafassi, in Sydney on Wednesday.
"Both mother and baby are very well and very happy," a spokeswoman said in a statement.
Collette, 35, announced her pregnancy in July, saying that she and Galafassi, her husband of five years, were "completely over the moon" about the impending addition to their family.
Even before conceiving, the Oscar nominee said she found herself leaning toward motherhood roles in her films.
"It is strange that in the last three films I've done I have been pregnant," Collette said in July. "I'm just like, 'What is the universe trying to tell me?' But I think everything happens when it's meant to."
Collette will next be seen in a pair of Australian films: the comedy Hey Hey It's Esther Blueburger and the drama The Black Balloon. Both movies are slated for release Down Under in March.
