Aaron Carter's Wipe Out

Aaron took his party to the hospital.

While searching for the perfect wave, teen heartthrob Aaron Carter wound up wiping out in a surfboard mishap that required him to seek medical attention, his publicist confirmed Wednesday.

Details are sketchy, but reps for the 18-year-old popster said that he "had a minor surfing accident earlier this week."

"Although hospitalized, he has been released and is recovering nicely at home," said the statement from Carter's camp.

No word on the nature of his injuries. Also unclear is whether the incident will be dealt with in House of Carters, the new reality series he and his siblings, including older bro Nick, are doing for E! that premieres in October. (E! Online is a division of E! Networks.)

It's not the first smash hit for Carter. While hyping his new show a few weeks ago at the Television Critics Association's press tour in Pasadena, California, the teen singer and former paramour of Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff talked about getting into a minor scuffle with his Backstreet Boys brother.

"Eh, we're brothers, it happened." Aaron told reporters, then proceeded to show off the large welt near his hairline.

Replied the elder Carter: "Aaron jumped me and I jumped him back. You'll see it on the show."

The fight was eventually broken up by a House of Carters cameraman, per the brothers.

The accident-prone Aaron narrowly avoided serious injury in January 2005 after his car exploded following a run-in with a wayward mattress on a Florida highway. Although he called it a near-death experience, the crooner managed to escape with only minor "bumps and bruises" in the crash.

Carter, who at 16 filed for legal emancipation after publicly firing his manager, mother Jane, released his last album, Come and Get It: The Very Best of Aaron Carter, in January.
