Celebrity Apprentice Returns to the Whore Viper Pit!

Joan Rivers is not going to be happy about this!

NBC announced this morning that it has ordered a new season of Celebrity Apprentice, so Donald Trump & Co. will be back on the air in 2010 for season eight. Perhaps producers and NBC were inspired by the Melissa Rivers' recent, fabulous onscreen theatrics (in addition to the show's average 8.6 million viewers)?

The first six rounds of The Apprentice featured regular Joes (like Bill Rancic, now married to E! News host Giuliana) aspiring to become Trump executives, but seasons six and seven (as well as season eight, premiering next spring) have featured celebrities competing for glory and charity.

Spicy season seven, featuring Melissa's already infamous freak-out, wraps on May 10. The remaining contenders for this year's title are country musician Clint Black, poker champion Annie Duke, chopper king (and Mr. Sandra Bullock) Jesse James, Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick and comedian Joan Rivers, assuming, of course, that Joan doesn't follow in her daughter's temperamental footsteps and walk out before the finale.
