It looks like Tom Gabel's fans have nothing against his decision to come out as a transgendered person.

Amid cheers and screams of support from the audience during his band's show last Friday in San Diego, the lead singer of the punk-rock group Against Me! performed for the first time as Laura Jane Grace since revealing earlier this month that he would begin living life as a woman.

"I was worried that some people expected me to come out looking like Little Bo Beep or something," Grace told Rolling Stone after the concert while sitting with supportive wife Heather. (The couple has a 2-year-old daughter, Evelyn.)

During the group's 40-minute set, the quartet offered up six new songs, including the tune "Transgender Dysphoria Blues."

Grace is two weeks into hormone replacement therapy, which involves the redistribution of one's body muscle mass.

Against Me! is currently on tour with The Cult.
