Sporting Superstars Line Up for ABC Competition

After Dancing With the Stars premiered, we started to wonder what constituted the word star. The advent of The Superstars hasn't cleared anything up for us.
The upcoming hyperbolically named competition series pits eight [insert letter]-listers and their pro-athlete partners against each other in a variety of sporting events to determine who is the fittest of them all.
But, if we're not exactly venturing into Tom Cruise—or even Paris Hilton—territory here as far as level of celebrity goes, at least ABC has lined up a comely crowd, including DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, former Baywatch eye candy David Charvet (whose longtime love Brooke Burke won DWTS, of course), 1990s-era MTV personality Dan Cortese, model-actress Ali Landry and Planet of the Apes babe Estella Warren.
Polish model Joanna Krupa, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition designer Paige Hemmis and singer Julio Iglesias Jr. (Enrique's older brother) round out the cast.
The cast will kayak, swim, run, bike and otherwise physically compete their way to glory.
Here's a rundown of the eight celebs and the impressive lot of athletes they've been paired with:

• Estella Warren & Robert Horry (member of seven NBA championship teams)

• Dan Cortese & Lisa Leslie (WNBA superstar)
• David Charvet & Jennifer Capriati (retired tennis star)
• Julio Iglesias Jr. & Brandi Chastain (sports bra-baring soccer star)
The Superstars, which was shot entirely in the Bahamas, premieres June 23.
