Rate-a-Trailer: One Missed Call
If you are still afraid of your VCR because of The Ring, then get ready to run scared from your cell phone. A phone phobia might develop from watching One Missed Call. Shannyn Sossamon's friends keep dying after they get creepy voicemails in which they hear—get this—what it sounds like when they die.
Confused? Don't be. Call is a remake of a Japanese horror film, as in straight-up plot, girl vs. supernatural. Upside: It looks infinitely more appealing than the Jessica Alba-is-blind Japanese remake of The Eye. Downside: Call looks like it might have been a wee bit more fun if the tone were a little more chilling and sarcastic, like a girlie Final Destination.
