Portman's Pertinent Points

Natalie Portman AP Photo/Paul Sakuma

The only thing we love more around here than alliteration is Natalie Portman. Her cuteness is so overwhelming, and we also know she has some brains—they don't let just anyone graduate from Harvard.

Still, we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered she spent last night channeling Angelina Jolie and speaking out about humanitarian efforts at Stanford. The Garden State cutie was doing her duty as Ambassador of Hope for FINCA International, an organization that seeks to end global poverty through microfinance.

Her demure black dress and sleek Louboutins—also a Jolie humanitarian staple—were enough to please us, but then we found a review of her lecture on the Stanford Daily website. Apparently, she charmed and educated the tough crowd with her "riveting speech full of insights about how to implement poverty relief that actually works.”

Go Natalie! You just may be our new favorite humanitarian. Feel free to drop by the E! offices and educate us anytime.
