Nicole Mystery Solved!
Earlier today, this pic of Nicole and Billy Bush had us scratching our heads. No way are the two just pals. So, we predicted an Access Hollywood exclusive.
Ta-da! We called it. Only, it's not to announce another Simple Life season, as most of you guessed, or about Paris volunteering for babysitting duties, as we had hoped.
Instead, the interview, airing tonight and tomorrow, is gonna feature Nicole opening up about family—specifically her biological parents, with whom she has a fractured relationship, adoptive father Lionel Richie's reaction to becoming a grandpa and the support she has gotten from Joel's mom.
Apparently, being with child has put Nic in the mood to reconcile with her bio parents, who gave her up at the age of three. "When I found out I was pregnant, there was just something inside of me that felt a responsibility to mend any issues I've had with my parents...You just want to heal any wounds before I become a mother myself."

As for dad Lionel, Nicole says he took a moment to react to the news of her pregnancy. "Of course, a father's first reaction, he was quiet and didn't really know what to think." But the pop legend soon came around.
"He called me the next day, and he was so excited, and now he just doesn't stop. He has all these names that he's ready for the baby to call him, in substitute of Grandpa, because he doesn't like grandpa."
Another source of support is Joel's mom. "I have a really good relationship with [her] as well. She lives over in Maryland, but she's come to visit me a few times."
But it may take a while before the two are officially family. Nic says any engagement is on hold for now. "Well, look how much has happened this year...I got to hold something for when I get older, I can't have everything happen all in one year."
Seriously. We all need a breather! In fact, we even applaud her decision not to find out the sex of the baby. Let's save a little mystery for the delivery, m'kay?
