Mindy McCready got a big treat for Halloween this year.

The struggling country songbird was free to spread her wings again Friday morning after being released from a Tennessee jail, where she spent 31 days of a 60-day sentence for violating new probation terms that were set after she violated old probation terms.

McCready, whose only 2008 hits were of the legal variety, was locked up after admitting to to falsifying her community service records. She was sentenced to three years' probation after pleading guilty in 2004 to fraudulently obtaining a prescription painkiller. At the time, she was also ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.

Last year the Ten Thousand Angels purveyor spent several months behind bars for roughing up her mother during a domestic dispute, a violation of her probation on the drug charge. Along with the arrest came two more years of probation.

But having to serve time again wasn't even the 32-year-old Nashville resident's biggest headline of the year. In April she claimed to have had an affair with married all-star pitcher Roger Clemens that began when she was 15.

Clemens, already scarred at the time with an HGH investigation, denied having a sexual relationship with the singer at any time and called her a "close family friend."
