Kim Kardashian's Bags Burgled at NY Airport
Unfortunately there were no cameras to capture what went down during Kim Kardashian's last trip to New York.
Before boarding a Delta flight to Las Vegas at JFK International Airport, the reality-TV star had her Mac laptop, digital camera and $50,000 worth of diamond jewelry, including a Cartier watch, stolen out of her bags, sources close to Kardashian told E! News.
The thievery allegedly occurred on Nov. 8, when Kardashian and her sister Kourtney, being trailed by the usual assortment of paparazzi and wide-eyed fans, stopped to pose for pictures and sign autographs for several Delta employees in the airline's terminal.
Kardashian apparently noticed that some of her pricier things were missing after the crowd dispersed.
According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, Delta then gave the socialite claim tickets of the variety handed out when an airline loses or in some way damages your luggage. In the meantime, the Atlanta-based carrier is looking into it.
"Delta is investigating Ms. Kardashian's claim regarding the supposed loss of valuables from her baggage," the airline said in a statement.
Kardashian has also filed a police report.
The daughter of late criminal-defense attorney Robert Kardashian isn't the only heiress to have been fleeced at the airport recently. A baggage handler at LAX was charged in March with allegedly pilfering a $100,000 watch from her pal Paris Hilton's carry-on bag in the British Airways terminal last year.
At least the crummy feeling that comes from losing one's stuff may have been tempered by the good news that E! has ordered another season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which follows the 27-year-old fashion designer and recent Playboy cover girl as she deals with fame and her tremendous good fortune on the streets of L.A.'s tonier neighborhoods.
