Goran Visnjic's Special Delivery
One ER doc made a special trip to the maternity ward this week.
Goran Visnjic and his artist wife Ivana have adopted a baby boy, their first child together, according to People.
The couple named their son, who was born Apr. 19 at Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Tin Visnjic.
Visnjic and Ivana swapped vows in 1999, right around the time the Croatian actor joined the cast of ER, replacing George Clooney as resident hunk (before Chicago's County General figured the more hunks the merrier and started stocking up).
With ER now in its 13th season, making it the second-longest-running drama currently on TV, next to Law & Order, Visnjic and his onscreen love Maura Tierney are the only remaining fulltime cast member from the Noah Wylie-Anthony Edwards-Eriq La Salle era.
Another era that may coming to an end, as this is likely Visnjic's last season on NBC's stalwart Thursday-night anchor, as well.
The 34-year-old actor (a rather young chief of emergency medicine, isn't he?) told E! Online TV columnist Kristin Veitch last fall that eight might be his magic number.
"I have been on the show for seven years, and this is season eight for me, and it's just…I've been here for a long time, so it is time to think about other things," he said.
An upcoming episode of the Emmy-winning medical drama will feature Visnjic's Dr. Luka Kovac finally tying the knot with the mother of his onscreen child, Tierney's Dr. Abby Lockhart. Or, at least there will be "an ER wedding to remember," as NBC promises.
