Good News, Bad News for Lou Diamond Phillips

Lou Diamond Phillips has a brand-new job to go along with his brand-new divorce.

The onetime Young Guns star has finalized his split from model Kelly Phillips (née Preston, no relation to Mrs. John Travolta), court documents showed.

The actor, whose credits include La Bamba, Stand and Deliver and a slew of straight-to-video thrillers, agreed to pay more than $13,000 a month in spousal and child support to his former missus. They will share custody of their three daughters: 10-year-old twins Isabella and Grace and seven-year-old Lili.

Additionally, he promised to pay a lump sump of $200,000 to Kelly and let her keep the family's 2003 Mercedes. Phillips gets the 1995 Ford Bronco.

The divorce judgment, entered in Los Angeles Superior Court July 30 and made public Tuesday, reveals Phillips makes about $600,000 a year. If he sees a substantial increase in income, he would share a commensurate percentage with his ex-wife and children, per the agreement.

If all goes to plan, there's a chance the pay bump could come soon. Phillips just signed on to star in the NBC drama pilot Backyards and Bullets. He'll play a police chief in a suburb where the local Neighborhood Watch goes haywire.

Per IMDb, Phillips also has two films and a TV movie in the pipeline.

He most recently appeared on several episodes of CBS' Numb3rs and an episode of USA Network's Psych.

Kelly Phillips filed for divorce in 2005, after 11 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

This is the actor's second marriage to flame out in divorce court. Phillips' first wife, Julie Cypher, famously ditched him in 1990 after falling for Melissa Etheridge during a music video shoot.

The divorce also ends a decidedly rough patch in Phillips' personal life.

In December, the actor pleaded no contest today to a count of domestic battery for a 2006 altercation with a former live-in girlfriend. He was sentenced to probation and counseling and ordered to keep away from the woman.
