Charlie Sheen's Back in Rehab
Less than a day after he checked out of a hospital, and shortly after he walked out of a rehab center, troubled actor Charlie Sheen was back where he started--in a hospital.
The party-boy star, who family said suffered a drug overdose at his home last Wednesday, signed out of the hospital on Friday, reports said. He then signed into rehab clinic at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told Associated Press.
But Sheen didn't stay long, officials said. A doctor alerted authorities, concerned that the Wall Street actor still needed medical supervision, authorities said.
Shortly after, sheriff's deputies pulled over a black limousine, containing a "heavily medicated" Sheen and friends, on the Southland's beautific Pacific Coast Highway.
"He needed medical treatment and he was admitted for the observation," Sheriff's Deputy Bob Killeen told Associated Press. "He was not able to care for himself."
Added Killeen: "I don't think he liked [being readmitted to the hospital] but he didn't resist."
The law agents escorted Sheen to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a 72-hour observation period, deputies said.
However, broadcast reports in Los Angeles said the actor only spent a brief time at Cedars-Sinai before being taken back to rehab.
No immediate word from the actor's publicist.
Sheen, 32, has not been arrested or cited.
