By George, No Charges in Motorcycle Smash

George Clooney's swoon-worthy visage remains unscathed. So does his rap sheet.

Neither the Hollywood hunk nor the other driver involved in Clooney's motorcycle crash last week are facing charges, police told E! News Monday.

"Due to conflicting statements of drivers and the lack of evidence to support either driver's version, no moving violation summonses have been issued to either party at this time," the Weehawken (New Jersey) Township Police Department said in a statement. "The incident remains under investigation."

Although Clooney and the other motorist, Albert Sciancalepore, a 27-year-old chef, weren't ticketed, there was some minor legal fallout from the accident.

According to Weehawken Public Safety Director Jeff Welz, the driver who doesn't hold a Sexiest Man Alive credit to his name was fined for not having his registration with him at the time of the so-far faultless accident.

At 3:30 p.m. Friday, Clooney's bike collided with the Mazda driven by Sciancalepore. Everything that came before the collision is up for debate: Clooney, who was driving on the right side of the road, says he was clipped by a passing Sciancalepore. But the chef claims Clooney was the one who sped up to pass him.

The police aren't taking sides just yet.

"Investigation at the scene determined that a 1999 Mazda Millennia operated by Mr. Albert Sciancalepore II of Weehawken, New Jersey, made contact with a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Mr. George Clooney of Los Angeles, California, who was accompanied by Ms. Sarah Larson of Las Vegas, Nevada," the police statement continues.

Police confirmed that Clooney, 46, and his 28-year-old girlfriend, former Palms cocktail waitress and onetime Fear Factor winner Larson, were checked out at the nearby Palisades Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

"Both were apparently wearing motorcycle helmets at the time of the accident," the police said. "The car was driven from the scene by its operator, and the motorcycle was [driven] from the scene by a representative of Mr. Clooney."

Clooney sustained a hairline rib fracture and "road rash," according to publicist Stan Rosenfield, while Larson, who was taken from the scene by ambulance, sustained a broken foot and suffered several cuts on her face.

Despite his battle wounds, Clooney told Access Hollywood in an email that "all is fine."

And while Sciancalepore insists that it was the movie star and not him who was in the driving wrong, he nonetheless expressed concern over the couple's well-being—and not just out of fear of facing the wrath of female fans everywhere.

"My main concern was there's two people on the ground; they just hit me, and you know, I'm concerned for them," he told Access Hollywood. "They're both bleeding; it's more of a shock than anything, not because he's a celebrity, but more to the fact that there's two people hurt on the ground that could have been severely hurt."

Witnesses to the crash have also recounted the harrowing accident.

David Sciumbata told the Newark Star-Ledger that Clooney and Larson waited outside his home for the ambulance to arrive. Larson's foot was pinned under the Harley while they awaited assistance, and Sciumbata said that Clooney did his part to calm the damsel's nerves the best way he knew how: by whispering sweet nothings.

Clooney told Larson, "I love you" and "it's going to be okay" while they waited for help, Sciumbata said.

And while Rosenfield has said that the actor's injury is "very painful" and will take several weeks to fully heal, Clooney remains the showbiz trouper.

Not only is shooting continuing as planned on Joel and Ethan Coen's Burn After Reading, the film currently in production in the New York metropolitan area in which Clooney stars alongside Brad Pitt, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand, but the dinged-up actor is still scheduled to appear Monday night in Manhattan for the U.S. premiere of Michael Clayton, his new legal thriller.
