Bill Murray Ain't Afraid of No Heights

Bill Murray's career took a major nosedive on Friday — from 13,500 feet up.

The 57-year-old star of Lost in Translation and Ghostbusters strapped on a parachute and jumped out of an airplane to help kickoff the 50th Chicago Air and Water Show. (Hey, after the nasty divorce he just went through, who wouldn't want to throw himself out of a plane??)

"It seemed like a good idea at a time," said the Chicago native, who played air guitar during his freefall. "I've had second thoughts, believe me. I've been really nervous. All the jokes (from friends) involve death."

Rest assured, he was in good hands for the 2 1/2 mile tumble. Murray jumped tandem with an army staff sergeant who had skydived more than 3,500 times, and was accompanied by the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team.

But after landing safely on the Lake Michigan beach, the Oscar-nominated actor summed up his experience by saying, "Right now, I really feel like having a drink."
