The 2018 Met Gala is just around the corner. While the event is renowned for its gorgeous fashion and A-list celebrities, it's also been known to attract its fair share of scandal.

Who could forget when Beyonce watched her sister Solange Knowles go after Jay-Z in that famous elevator ride? There was also that time Bella Hadid, Marc Jacobs, Dakota Johnson and more stars smoked in the bathroom, reportedly earning the museum a slap on the wrist from the New York City Department of Health.

In honor of Monday's big event, here's a look back at eight of the biggest Met Gala scandals of all time.

She received backlash for her comments and later wrote that she owed Beckham an apology. She also called her comments "totally narcissistic assumptions."
