We've said it before, and we'll say it again: The Golden Globes are the best awards show.

No, it's not as highly ranked as the Oscars, but it's definitely the night that all the celebrities in attendance have the most fun. Not only are the hosts always hilarious (Seth Meyers, take note!), but there's free flowing booze, and that would keep anyone happy.

The abundance of alcohol sometimes leads to mishaps when it comes to stars taking the stage, but no matter a snafu, the show always brings a slew of acceptance speeches that move us.

For example, last year, Meryl Streep accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achieve Award, during which she brought the audience to tears with her incredibly powerful, politically-charged speech. She went on to pull at our heartstrings even more when quoted the late Carrie Fisher. Through our tears, we knew it would be a moment the world would never forget.

And she's not alone.
