"Picturing this kind of story being told through Jean-Marc's eyes, which is so grounded…he can turn the camera on you in any moment," Kravitz said of Big Little Lies director Jean-Marc Vallée. Vallée directed from a script by David E. Kelley based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty.

"I wanted the truth of the character and with Jean-Marc directing us, I wanted it to be capturing real moments," Kidman said about the unique shooting style. In the clip above Vallée revealed how the show used natural light and staging to create intimate scenes.

"It's the whole package, all these beautiful, strong women," Vallée said.

Big Little Lies was a ratings success for HBO. Witherspoon, who served as an executive producer on the drama along with Kidman, said they would consider a second season if Moriarty created more story to tell. Moriarty confirmed she's been approached and is thinking about what could come next.

"Yeah, Nicole and I just spoke about it three days ago," Witherspoon recently told E! News about a second season. "We're talking to Liane Moriarty, who wrote the book, about how could these characters go on, what would happen? We definitely left it open-ended so there's a possibility there."
