Alien: The Director's Cut

Hollywood's so predictable: Even legendary films aren't above getting face-lifts--and even that ugly Alien looks better after some work. The original Alien--the story of Sigourney Weaver and crew battling a big, slimy interstellar beast--remains one of the scariest sci-fi films ever. Luckily, director Ridley Scott's new cut, complete with digitally restored picture and super sound, doesn't ruin the whole thing by putting a bunch of space junk back in.
In fact, the restored scenes help expand the film (even though you may have already seen them on the DVD). Scott, however, has also trimmed a few seconds here and there to keep the action moving at a quick clip. It's all good, and just getting to see this freakin' frightening and visually stimulating flick on a big screen (especially for those who've never seen it in a theater) makes this well worth a trip to your homeworld multiplex.
