Love hurts. And there are plenty of painful moments in this comic mockumentary about a schlub director who decides to cash in on his romantic failings by making a film about his next 20 dates. Hapless romantic Myles (played by "real-life" director Berkowitz) is his own worst enemy in an occasionally charming series of dating disasters. It's a little bit Woody Allen and a little bit Michael Moore--with all the narcissism that implies.
Complications arise, wouldn't you just know, when Myles finds true love before he counts to 20, and both his true love and his slimy producer get angry. There's plenty of spunk, but the high-concept low comedy drags on like the awkward dates it lampoons.
