Watch: Is Kate Beckinsale's Daughter Diving Into Acting?

Kate Beckinsale and Michael Sheen couldn't help but burst into tears Thursday night, but worry not! It's out of pure happiness.

The 43-year-old actress took to Instagram to share why the former couple is absolutely overwhelmed with emotions: their daughter, Lily, got accepted into college!

Beckinsale shared a sweet, side-by-side photo of Sheen holding both the girls in his arms, which she wrote was the perfect reaction any proud parent would have.

"The appropriate fatherly response when you find out your girl got into college: burst into tears, drop everything, rush over and pick up everyone even remotely involved," Beckinsale captioned the pic. "@lily_beckinsale we are so unbelievably proud of you . Fly fly fly."

Last month, E! News actually caught up with the mama to discuss her daughter's future and whether the parents thought she would get into acting.

"She's going to go to drama college actually," Beckinsale told us, joking that she and Michael had "failed horribly."

We disagree! In fact, it's no surprise Lily got into college with several strong, intelligent and talented women around her. Other than Beckinsale, Sarah Silverman (Sheen's current girlfriend) is also involved in the teenager's life.

"I'm completely open to any other strong, cool sensitive independent-thinking women who are going to be an influence in my daughter's life," Beckinsale said in an interview earlier this year. "Sarah's a great person and I'm glad she's in the village that's helping. It's important as a teenager to have good women in your life building up the fabric of your experience of becoming a woman. Even if Sarah wasn't Michael's girlfriend I'd want her to be in that."

Congrats to the family on this exciting news!
