Ryan Lochte's fiancé Kayla Rae Reid is pregnant with their first child together, the couple shared on Instagram Wednesday. As baby announcements go, Ryan and Kayla's has got to be one of the cutest, and totally appropriate given Lochte's status as one of the most decorated Olympic swimmers of all time.
"My Christmas gift came early this year, can't wait for next year! Best news I've ever received #CLOUD9 #excited #family #love #2017," the Dancing With the Stars contestant captioned a photo of himself kissing Kayla's growing belly in the pool.
His leading lady echoed Lochte's excitement, sharing her own version of the snapshot: "Just when you think you think you have it all figured out, life always surprises you with blessings when least expect it. So excited to share this news with all of you! #weareprego #omg #2017," Kayla wrote.
It's been quite a whirlwind year for the famous athlete and model. Following his arguably tumultuous exit from the 2016 Rio Games, Ryan joined the cast of DWTS alongside professional dance partner Cheryl Burke. He spent eight weeks dancing his way through the ABC competition series, but was ultimately sent packing in early November.
A few weeks prior, Lochte proposed to his girlfriend during a private helicopter tour of Los Angeles, and of course, she said yes to one stunning diamond sparkler.
The parents-to-be first crossed paths in January 2016 when they met at a Los Angeles nightclub, and they've been inseparable ever since.
"From the very first time I met her, everything has like clicked,'' Ryan shared with USA Today Sports. "That's why I know I can propose to her because everything that's happened and she's been keeping me so positive. She doesn't care about my fame. She doesn't care about anything. All she cares about is me being happy.
