Kanye West has left Trump Tower.
Nearly two weeks after being released from the hospital for exhaustion, the Grammy-winning rapper flew to New York City where his schedule featured a visit to an apartment building in the Financial District, time at a recording studio, and now, a brief meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan.
The "Fade" star arrived to the 5th Avenue home of the future president around 9 a.m. with an entourage and videographer, though wife Kim Kardashian was not with him.
After their meeting, West and Trump came down to the lobby together where they spoke briefly to reporters. Corey Gamble and Ivanka Trump were also present in the small group.
When asked about the reason for their meeting, the president-elect replied, "Just friends, just friends, and he's a good man. Doing well, long time."
When questioned about potential cabinet positions for the rapper, Trump said, "We've been friends for a long time."
"We discussed life," the president-elect added.
As the press flooded West with more questions, he simply told them, "I just want to take a picture right now."
The two men shook hands and said goodbye. "So long, man," Trump said. "You take care of yourself. I'll see you soon."
Hours earlier, West was spotted Monday night at Mercer Kitchen in Soho. According to a source, West was in great spirits, smiling and talking to the people he was with. "He was very friendly and pleasant."
