They might not be able to stop the beat, but can they be beat by our trivia game?
That was the challenge E! News gave to Hairspray Live's "kids," including Dove Cameron (Amber Von Tussle), Garrett Clayton (Link Larkin), Ephraim Sykes (Seaweed) and Shahadi Wright Joseph (Little Inez) ahead of their Dec. 7 live musical. And let's just say the competition was more fierce than Edna and Tracy's Hefty Hideaway looks.
It was Dove and Ephraim vs. Garrett and Shahadi in our trivia quiz, which tested the young stars knowledge of Hairspray's two movies (the 1988 original and the 2007 version) as well as its history on Broadway. A few sample questions?
Just how many lollipops did Amanda Bynes go through a day as Penny during the filming of the 2007 movie? The answer will DEFINITELY shock you, as even Dove screamed, "Shut up!" And how many shows did Hairspray run for on Broadway? Spoiler alert: neither team got that one right.
Things got so intense during their face-off, which included trash-talk about spelling errors, that co-star Derek Hough, who is taking on the role of Corny Collins, crashed the game to help out on with one particularly challenging question.
