And she's got the red scrunchie of power, too

We have one question for Shannen Doherty right now, and that is: What's your damage, Heather?

The actress posted a photo from the set of TV Land's remake of her iconic ‘80s film Heathers, confirming two things: that the new project has her seal of approval, and that she's filming an as-yet-unnamed cameo in the pilot of the new TV show (according to TV Land it's a "pivotal, unnamed character," but considering she's wearing her signature red scrunchie, we're holding out hope that it's the one and only Heather Duke).

The show, which has not yet been picked up to series, is a reimagining of the black comedy in the present day, where the outcasts that Doherty's Heather Duke and co. once would have bullied are now the popular (and evil) ruling class of their high school.

Ringleader Heather Chandler is overweight a la the relentlessly bullied Martha Dumptruck from the original movie (Melanie Field) with Heather McNamara is a black lesbian (Jasmine Mathews), and Heather Duke is a male identifying as gender-queer whose real name is Heath (Brendan Scannell). Veronica and J.D. will be played by newcomers Grace Victoria Cox and James Scully.

Doherty has been battling cancer since being diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2015.

"I think what's beautiful and hard and interesting about cancer is that it tears you down and builds you, and tears you down and builds you," Doherty recently said of her struggle.

"It remakes you so many different times. The person I thought I was supposed to be or was going to be or who I thought I was six months ago is now somebody completely different. I realize 'Wow, I really thought that I was so brave and so gracious this entire time and really I was just hiding.'"
