While her husband was busy making history, Melania Trump was making a statement—a fashion statement.
On Election Day in New York City, the Slovene American future First Lady took the stage at the midtown New York Hilton Hotel draped in a white jumpsuit by American designer Ralph Lauren. The Italian-made silk asymmetrical one piece featured a single flutter sleeve and retails for $3,990.
The former model kept the rest of her evening look bare save for a bangle and ring while her hair framed her face and shoulders in one of her signature soft blowouts.
The color was particularly significant considering Trump's opponent, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, had also sported a white suit by Ralph Lauren to accept her nomination at the Democratic National Convention in late July.
The label also popped up on Clinton on Election Day when she wore a khaki pantsuit to cast her vote at Douglas G. Grafflin Elementary School in Chappaqua, N.Y.
Lauren has not only been a constant in this campaign cycle, but also previously dressed First Lady Michelle Obama during her state visit to England in 2011.
With less than three months until Inauguration Day, we will soon learn whether Ralph Lauren will become a staple in the Trump White House closets.
