The end is near, friends.

Dancing with the Stars is quickly heading towards its finale, and tonight the contestants were whittled down to the final five. While this is usually the point at which the season can go off in some crazy and incorrect direction, Marilu and Derek heading home was probably the correct result.

Marilu has never been a bad dancer, but the tension between them has been occasionally uncomfortable, and all of the other stars are better than she is at this point, which is fine. This final five is going to be a tough race!

Let's talk about the dances:

Every Season of Dancing with the Stars Ranked from Worst to Best
ABC

Marilu Henner and Derek Hough: 36/40

An improvement, but this was one of those times when it seemed as if Marilu's torso was having trouble keeping up with her impossibly long legs.

ABC

Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold: 37/40

As much as we always love Calvin, the judges were right: something was off between the song and the dancing. It could have been a great dance, but is "Memories" ever a great song?

ABC

James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess/Jenna Johnson: 36/40

James Hinchcliffe was made for Broadway week, even if The Wiz was a weird choice. Do you think he might be able to sing too?

ABC

Terra Jole and Sasha Farber: 38/40

This was fun, but yet another sort of old Hollywood number from Terra, even though she said she was doing something new and fresh.

ABC

Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko: 40/40

These two hotties combined with Sara Bareilles' songwriting skills may have just caused us to melt into the floor.

ABC

Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy: 40/40

It is so dang easy to forget that Laurie and Val are not both pros, just putting on a fun show for us. Her "Cell Block Tango" was divine.

Calvin and James: 37/40

Gonna be honest here, it wasn't easy to get through a dance featuring two of our biggest DWTS crushes, but somehow we lived to see the entirety of their wild west paso doble fight, and we loved it.

Marilu and Terra: 36/40

This felt exactly like what Terra and Marilu do every week, but that's not to say it wasn't a good time. That giant dress gag was great!

Jana and Laurie: 40/40

We're suckers for Sia and for these two ladies, so this was kind of perfection.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
