The Disney Channel star posted a photo of himself from yesterday and explained to fans how he actually was in the hospital for the entirety of the holiday.
"This is how I spent my Halloween after a series of food-poisoning, dehydration and diabetes-related complications," he wrote.
"Life is precious but fragile, and boy did I get that reminder! Grateful for an amazing sister, family, and friends who quite literally saved my life yesterday. Doing better today—thanks for the well wishes."
The actor, who most recently played the role of Brad in Fox's live remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, seemed to have enjoyed himself earlier over the weekend it seems as it previously posted several shots of him spending time with friends at a few Halloween parties around town.
In fact, in one snapshot, he posed with Miranda Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy, two childhood Nickelodeon stars that McCartan has kept in close contact with.
Perhaps the silver lining here is that at least he got to enjoy some of his Halloween weekend? Either way, we hope McCartan recovers and recuperates in no time flat!
