With a presidential election only a week away, it seemed only fitting that Jimmy Kimmel draw some inspiration from the land of the free and home of the brave for his Halloween costume.

Spoiler alert: he did not dress up as Donald Trump. "I'm dressed as an eagle—an American eagle," he explained to the crowd. "Since the election is next week....our theme tonight...it's America."

His sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, was in costume as the Liberty Bell. "A lot of people have been saying he's the Taco Bell," Kimmel quipped. "He's not—he's the Liberty Bell."

The rest of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! band were in a variety of USA-theme attire, including Mount Rushmore, Uncle Sam, Captain America, the White House and perhaps the most American item of all, apple pie.

Stars Celebrate Halloween 2016

Kimmel and his team weren't the only ones to get into the Halloween spirit this year. Kathy Griffin also arrived to the show dressed accordingly as the Statue of Liberty.

Room star Jacob Tremblay, 10, strutted out onto the set as Maverick from Top Gun—aviators and all.

"My parents loved '80s movies because they're old," the pint-sized star explained to Kimmel before scolding him for telling parents to eat their children's candy.

Over at The Late Late ShowJames Corden also was feeling creepy when he was photographed behind the wheel as a spooky version of himself. "Anyone up for a little CarGHOUL SCARYoke?" the photo's caption read. Um, yes please!

Meanwhile, the late-night host gave fans a taste of Halloween a week earlier when he appeared in a new music video for "Candy" with Niall Horan to the tune of "Pony" by Ginuwine. During the trick-or-treating sketch, Corden donned not one, but three costumes, including a Batman cape, a corn getup and an astronaut suit.

Talk about going all out for Halloween!
