You just never know what to expect at this award show.

We're just one day away before the 50th Annual CMA Awards air and as you likely could have guessed, organizers are going real big for this special night.

Carrie Underwood, Pentatonix, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are just some of the A-list stars expected to perform at the Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee.

But before the stars descend into Nashville, we thought it was more than an appropriate time to look back at just some of the many CMA Awards show moments that had everyone across the country talking.

From tearful performances and acceptance speeches to unforgettable collaborations and special guests, it's going to be hard to say no to watching Wednesday's show after this trip down memory lane.

1. A Drink to Remember: When performing "Drink a Beer" at the 2013 awards show, Luke Bryan fought back tears as the song was recorded with the memory of his brother Chris and sister Kelly, whom he lost in 1996 and 2007 respectively. "This is the coolest sad song ever," he shared. "It holds a special place in my heart and I am honored the writers allowed me to record it."

2. Barbie Style: When Brad Paisley and Carrie were co-hosting the show back in 2011, the pair decided to have a little fun with help from a couple of Barbies modeled after Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. "I can't wait till the end of the show," Brad said on stage. "Can we play with these now?" What came next was a hilarious bit that absolutely received a few laughs from the real couple.

3. Welcome to New York: In 2005, organizers decided to take the show to New York City. Garth Brooks soon followed where he was able to perform "Good Ride Cowboy" in the middle of Times Square. While it was the first and only time the CMAs were held outside of Nashville, this performance certainly deserved a round of applause.

4. Thanks From Taylor Swift: 2009 was a big year for the "Shake It Off" singer who not only become the youngest artist to ever win Entertainer of the Year. She also picked up the trophy for Female Vocalist of the Year where a special speech soon followed. "And I want to thank everybody in the room tonight for not running up on the stage during my speech," she joked during the night.

5. Introducing the President: Back in 1991, President George Bush attended the CMA Awards where he briefly spoke to the audience. "Barbara and I come here as fans. Country music gives us a window on the real world. Country songs do say a lot about life," he explained. "It's easy to see why America loves country music and country music loves America." No other sitting President has stopped by the show.

6. Throwback Alert: Year after year, fans wait in anticipation and wonder who will be crowned Entertainer of the Year. As it turns out, the first artist to ever take home the trophy was "Cattle Call" and "Bouquet of Roses" singer Eddy Arnold in 1967. Charley Pride would become the first African American to win the award in 1971.

7. Bye, Bye, Bye: Believe it or not, ‘N Sync was able to grace the country awards show back in 1997. Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass and the group shared the stage with Alabama for the song "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You."

8. American Idol's Emotional Performance: When Kellie Pickler took to the stage to sing "I Wonder," the finalist couldn't help but tear up when performing a track inspired by being abandoned by her mother. "Forgiveness is such a simple word, but it's so hard to do when you've been hurt," she sang before breaking down.

9. Country Power Couple: In 2012, Miranda Lambert's "Over You" won Song of the Year. During her acceptance speech, however, she let writer Blake Shelton do the talking. "My dad always told me, 'Son, you should write a song about your brother,'" Blake explained. "I lost my dad in January, and it's so amazing to me that tonight, even after he's gone, he's still right. I just needed the right person to write this song with and the right person to sing it."

10. It's a Boy: You just never know what to expect with Brad and Carrie as hosts. During the pair's opening monologue in 2014, Brad made it clear that he knew something the rest of America didn't know. "I know something you all don't know. Suck it, TMZ," Brad joked when teasing the sex of his co-host's upcoming baby. "We should name him Garth!" And that's how the cat comes out of the bag.

11. Takes Us Away J.T.: Sure, we loved when ‘N Sync appeared at the awards show. But we absolutely loved when Justin Timberlake collaborated with Chris Stapleton for "Tennessee Whiskey" and "Drink You Away." "To all of the artists that have to follow @ChrisStapleton & Justin Timberlake ....we're sorry," Kelly Clarkson tweeted minutes after the performance. "Should have closed with this #CMAAwards2015."

12. Wardrobe Malfunction Alert: While winning the Entertainer of the Year award in 1978, Dolly Parton accidently split her dress when walking on stage. "My daddy said that's what I get for putting 50 pounds of mud in a five-pound bag," she joked with the crowd.
