Can you believe Taylor Swift has been releasing music for 10 years now?

It seems like just yesterday that we were introduced to a young, curly-haired Nashville singer who strummed her guitar to the melodies of young love, but in actuality, it's been an entire decade since we were first met with the superstar.

Swift took to Instagram to celebrate her big milestone by posting a throwback photo of herself rocking a Pink Victoria's Secret zip-up hoodie while she played her guitar, taking us all back to her first days in the spotlight.

She wrote, "10 years ago today, my first album came out. I couldn't be more grateful today, thinking back on how much fun we've had and how you've encouraged me to change and grow. It's been such an adventure, guys. Thank you for all of it."

On Oct. 24, 2006, Swift released the eponymous album Taylor Swift, serenading the world on Tim McGraw, pickup trucks and the teardrops on her guitar.

The album was described in The New York Times as "a small masterpiece of pop-minded country, both wide-eyed and cynical, held together by Ms. Swift's firm, pleading voice." As of August 2016 Taylor Swift has sold over 7.75 million copies worldwide.

As we all know, she followed that album with Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989, respectively, with each album arguably making a grander wave in the music world than the one that came before it. In fact, 1989, her first pop genre record, sold a whopping 9.8 million albums and counting.

Her empire has grown significantly, and her music has been recognized on multiple platforms.

Swift has received a number of accolades for her work the last 10 years, including 10 Grammy Awards, 19 American Music Awards, 23 Billboard Music Awards and Country Music Association Awards, and 8 Academy of Country Music Awards.

Not only that, but according to numbers recorded at the beginning of 2016, Swift has sold over 40 million albums and garnered over 130 million single downloads.

Wonder if that young teenage girl playing her guitar in Nashville knew just how big she was going to be.
