The Walking Dead season seven premiere gave viewers the answers they needed, but maybe not the ones they wanted. In a twist, the show stayed true to comic books with a death at the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), but again, with a twist, changed things up. Spoilers ahead!

Glenn (Steven Yeun) was brutally murdered by Negan in front of his zombie apocalypse family, staying true to his death in the comic books by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard. It was emotional on the page and on the screen. But the premiere also featured Negan killing another character, Abraham (Michael Cudlitz).

The Walking Dead's Biggest Changes From Comics to TV

The character of Abraham is dead in the comic series, which is still ongoing, but he met his maker another way, at the hands of a different character menacing Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group of survivors.

In the comics, Abraham is killed by Dwight (played by Austin Ameilo in the TV series) thanks to an arrow through the eye. The Walking Dead TV series killed Denise (Merritt Wever) that way in season six.
