Watch: Keesha Sharp "Very Excited" for "Lethal Weapon" Series

Strong women are the name of the game on TV these days, and count Keesha Sharp among the actresses ensuring that the male characters can keep it together on their toughest days.

First as Johnnie Cochran's wife, Dale Cochran, on The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and now taking on the rather iconic role of the ever-patient Trish Murtaugh in Fox's retooling of Lethal Weapon, Sharp has become the definition of "better half" on the small screen. Moreover, in the TV version, Mrs. Murtaugh is a high-powered attorney in addition to being an understanding wife and mom.

"I'm a huge Lethal Weapon fan anyway, so being part of the show is like a dream come true," the actress, whose credits also include Girlfriends and Everybody Hates Chris, told E! News when we caught up with her at the Fox Emmys party, where People v. O.J. was celebrating nine Emmy wins.

Working with Damon Wayans, who's playing the seasoned detective Roger Murtaugh opposite Clayne Crawford's unstable Martin Riggs, has been "laughter, laughter and more laughter," Sharp gushed about her co-star and onscreen husband.

It also just so happens that we'll be seeing her next on the big screen as Vivian "Buster" Burey, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, being played by Chadwick Boseman, in the biopic Marshall.

In reality, Keesha has been married to actor and singer-songwriter Bradford Sharp for 19 years—and life off-camera sounds pretty sweet. The couple, who've been together for 23 years overall, have an 11-year-old son, Solomon.

But we wanted to know more about the actress who has appeared in two of the biggest series of 2016, and she obligingly filled out our E!Q so that we could find out what makes her tick. Here are 14 things you didn't know about Keesha Sharp:

And she's not kidding Instagram—or enjoying a staycation.

"End of my staycation... Reading, writing, drinking lots of water, eating organic... #ready4myman#ready4work #ready4life #ready," she captioned a rather fierce picture of herself just yesterday.

Ready when you are, Keesha!

Lethal Weapon airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
