Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are just like any other couple...except for the fact that nearly their entire relationship has played out in front of millions of people.

The stars of Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? sat down with E! News' Erin Lim to dish on life after The Bachelor and why they decided to let cameras into their lives once again.

"I want people to see, first off, that we really care about each other, that our relationship is very real, that it has the same struggles and same joys that a lot of relationships share," Higgins explains in the video above. "I think it's very fun to watch because it's two people that grew up in a very normal life being thrown into a very abnormal situation."

Part of that very abnormal situation is that Ben's ex, JoJo Fletcher, is in the news just as often thanks to having been the star of The Bachelorette. In fact, the first episode of Ben and Lauren featured the couple watching JoJo's season together, and tonight's episode includes a double date with Ben, Lauren, JoJo, and her fiance Jordan Rodgers.

Bushnell says that she and Fletcher are actually friends, and there's no animosity between them.

"Coming off of The Bachelor, most of my struggles were with Ben. They really didn't have anything to do with JoJo," Lauren says. "We really just needed to rebuild a relationship, and it's very hard coming off The Bachelor watching your now fiance date other women."

That double date may sound very awkward, but it may not be as bad as you think.

"Just putting myself back in that situation was a little weird, as I think most women would think it's weird to sit down for lunch with an ex, but it ended up going really well," Lauren continues. "I'm excited for people to see and watch...because we are friends, and we both have a lot in common. I think it was good that we all sat down."

Part of watching these normal people in an abnormal situation involves them going on double dates with their exes and people stopping them on the street and questioning their love for each other, but the show also covers things that a lot more normal people deal with, like moving in with a spouse for the first time.

"I grew up as an only child, and the only woman I had lived with is my mom, and she doesn't take a lot of time to get ready in the morning," Higgins explains. "When I first moved in with Lauren, she was spending, you know, 45 minutes getting ready."

Eventually, Ben realized that wasn't that strange, and even got in on some of the pampering himself.

"He lets me give him facials now," Bushnell says.

"I get facials and I set on the couch with, like, cucumbers on my eyes," Higgins adds.
