What time is it? Showtime!

The cast of New Girl heads to New York to support their friend Schmidt (Max Greenfield), who is being honored at his alma mater, and a crossover with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and E! News has an exclusive sneak peek at the New Girl half of the hourlong crossover event.

Before Schmidt's ceremony, Nick (Jake Johnson) and Winston (Lamorne Morris) head into the city to splurge on fine dining and other things enjoyed by gentlemen of means. Unfortunately, they blow their whole budget on fancy food—and don't have enough money to get back to Long Island for the event.

They have to improvise, and realize the best way to raise money for the train fare is to earn it by performing for their fellow commuters. Unfortunately, they don't necessarily have anything to perform.

"Who wants to see what he's going to do? I do," shouts Nick as he hypes up the crowd for the inevitable performance. "It's honestly time to do it!"

Shouts Winston, "Y'all don't want to miss this. We're going to do something with this! This is the main event, right here."

What will they do? Check out the video above to see what earns the pair 72 whole cents. The Brooklyn Nine/Nine-New Girl crossover airs tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox. In the first half of the event, Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) will encounter Jess (Zoey Deschanel) while working a case—which takes Jess to the 99th precinct in part two and the whole New Girl gang to the Big Apple for Schmidt's aforementioned event.
