They're officially a couple—on the red carpet, that is.
Although Sean Penn has been dating Vincent D'Onofrio's daughter, Leila George D'Onofrio, for a little while, the only just became red carpet officially Thursday night.
The couple stepped out for an event at LACMA in Los Angeles, where the 56-year-old actor participated in a discussion for the Film Independent series. Wearing a bright red wig, Leila, 24, attended to show her support for her beau. Earlier in the day the couple was spotted shopping. Leila sported a hat that supported Sean's J/P HRO charity.
Sean and Leila's romance made headlines earlier this week when they were photographed making out in the water in Hawaii. Before entering a relationship with Leila George, Sean was seriously involved with Charlize Theron, but they called it quits after a year and a half together. Many assumed Charlize "ghosted" him, but she clarified the rumors in WSJ magazine.
"There is a need to sensationalize things," she said. "When you leave a relationship there has to be some f--king crazy story or some crazy drama. And the f--king ghosting thing, like literally, I still don't even know what it is. It's just its own beast."
She added, "We were in a relationship and then it didn't work anymore. And we both decided to separate. That's it."
