The 2016 Environmental Media Association Awards has added another big name to its list of attendees: Nicole Richie

But that's not all. The fashion designer will actually host the big night in Hollywood as stars celebrate their efforts in protecting and preserving the environment and promoting go-green projects.

"I am honored and excited to host the 2016 EMA Awards—my favorite night of the year to have a good time while talking about the importance of environmental responsibility," Richie said in a statement. "I've grown up with the Environmental Media Association—their leadership in bringing awareness to environmental issues has shaped and inspired me. Now more than ever, we need the truths about our planet, which EMA has illuminated for me, to reach young people across this country and ensure a healthier future for all."

The President of the Environmental Media Association, Debbie Levin, praised Richie.

"We can think of no better person to host the EMA Awards than our very own Nicole Richie," she said in a statement. "As a longstanding member of our board, Nicole quite simply captures the spirit of the EMA Awards; she has a deep philanthropic history and commitment to the environment. With her sense of humor, big heart, and knowledge about the environmental issues, Nicole brings the perfect combination of entertainment and advocacy to the stage. Guests at the 2016 EMA Awards are in for a real treat."

Moby will also be honored on the big night as he is being presented with the EMA Missions in Music Award.

"The earth is a special place, and we should be doing everything we can to pass it on to generations to come as a habitable place where they can thrive," the musician said in a statement regarding the news. "EMA is on a mission to preserve the environment and they act as a catalyst for change, something very valuable to me. I'm honored to accept the EMA Missions in Music Award."

Moby and Richie will join Shailene Woodley and Jaden Smith who were previously named as two of this year's EMA special honorees. They will be presented with EMA Futures Award for their leadership and action in the eco-community as well as being voices for the younger generations.

The EMA Awards recognize and honor environmental pioneers who embody the commitment and leadership to raise awareness of environmental issues. They will take place on October 22 at the Warner Bros. studio in Burbank, Calif.
