Watch: How Well Do "Grey's Anatomy" Stars Know Medical Terms?

Things in the Alex Karev department just keep getting worse.

While Karev believed he was about to be charged with a misdemeanor for beating up DeLuca, he arrived in court to learn that he was actually being charged with a felony.

Somehow, this didn't immediately get Alex kicked out of the hospital until further notice, but it did distract the hell out of him. He missed some things on a case with a former kidney transplant patient, and got himself kicked off the case while the kid was on his way to possibly losing his new kidney.

Bailey finally suspended him and sent him down to the understaffed clinic, and everything was pretty terrible.

For one thing, we hate seeing one of our favorite characters in such a s—ty position. He made a really really awful mistake, and absolutely deserves to be punished for it, but we don't want to watch that punishment happen.

We also want to see this resolved somewhat realistically (for a TV show), but could that possibly end with Alex keeping his job at the hospital? Or will DeLuca leave instead? Can Alex and Jo recover from what happened? Do we want them to?

It has also been interesting watching Meredith act as Karev's number one protector, given the fact that she knows what it's like to be senselessly attacked. But she also knows Alex, and she knows that he as a person does not deserve to lose his job over what he did.

This whole thing really just sucks, but this show is often at its best when everything sucks. So we're conflicted.

Here are some things that did not suck:

Webber playing hospital spy/Hercules Mulligan was a treat. He is not used as comic relief often enough!

Jackson stepping up when April really needed his help was lovely, and we just wish April would be willing to take it. He is baby Harriet's rich father, so we're kinda feeling like April should just take his help.

We are so glad Mer shut down Riggs and Maggie by warning him beforehand and telling him to nicely let her down, but we were not glad to find that Maggie wasn't giving up. Are we the only ones who don't care about her Riggs crush? (Also: the fact that Maggie's sexy Riggs dream was exactly the same as Meredith's actual hook up with Riggs is endlessly hilarious to us.)

That Owen/Amelia dinner party...actually wasn't great, but made for some fun awkward dinner party banter. "Mrs. Peterkin" is officially our new secret alias.
