Many people say Justin Theroux is a lucky man, having married the stunning Jennifer Aniston...but after looking through the photos of his latest magazine spread, we're thinking they're both pretty damn lucky.

The Girl on the Train actor covers the new issue of the UK Men's Health magazine, and we're in total awe. He flexes his bulging muscles as he poses for the gritty spread, showing off every detail of his toned body as he does pull ups on a rusted beam and jumps over fences. It's the manliest of manly cover shoots.

So what's Theroux's secret to maintaining his physique? "You have to come in to filming in the best shape you can because as the hours and weeks grind on you, you find yourself not having the luxury of going to the gym and doing the big workouts you like to do," he explained.

"The beauty of workouts now is that you really just need some rubber bands and a kettlebell and you can set up anywhere," he added.

Health and fitness aside, Theroux says there's something else that can affect his happiness, and thus, affect his life and career in general.

"I only ever find myself unhappy if I mistrust my gut," he revealed to the magazine. "If I've learned anything, it's to do what I want based on my taste. Usually I enjoy myself. It's simple advice, do what makes you happy. But I've been very successful, at least on a happiness level."

His taste has placed him in the category of the "modern man" in Hollywood, which Theroux appreciates.

"I just find non-modern men very boring," he admitted. "Just because they seem rigid, stuck in the old tropes of what it means to be a professional, a boyfriend, a father. Those kinds of things."

But even he admits to being a little stubborn about certain things, especially when it comes to style.

"The one thing that is unchangeable is I refuse to wear shorts," he said. "I just don't think it's a good look on anybody. It's the same with flip-flops. I don't think anyone should wear those things unless they're in rehab, in hospital or on a beach. I just prefer jeans and boots."

He's also firm in his stance about the paparazzi and bullying, standing up for Aniston following the letter she wrote to the media when headlines kept speculating she was pregnant.

"I was very proud of what she wrote. It was a rare insight into how disgusting all that is," he said. "At some point it becomes bullying. It sucks when people aim cameras at your stomach on some bizarre womb watch. But more to the point, it's equally damaging to the national conversation."
