The actress turns 48-years-old today and the mother of two celebrated her very special day by working hard on the set of her upcoming Netflix series, Gypsy.
Watts is set to star alongside Billy Crudup in the psychological thriller that's expected to premiere in 2017.
Fifty Shades of Grey's Sam Taylor-Johnson has signed on to direct the first two episodes out of the 10-episode season thus far.
Gypsy follows Watts as she plays therapist Jean Holloway and delves deep into the personal, often sordid lives of her patients.
And while it's still a bit early to tell exactly how the Aussie star rings in her birthday night, it's clear she's getting right back to her routine following her announcement earlier this week that she and longtime partner Liev Schreiber have split.
The two released a joint statement on Monday explaining their decision to part ways after 11 years together.
"Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship."
The joint statement continued, "While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy."
Meanwhile, a source tells E! News that the couple's breakup "was a long time coming" and that the actors simply "grew apart."
"They fell out of love like any normal person can in a long-term relationship. They'll still remain close friends."
